Outdoor Education | Tuesdays and Wednesdays at 2:20pm
January 6 to June 17 - Offered Tuesdays and Wednesdays
Families may enroll in one day per week or both days for a richer outdoor learning experience.
Please note: There will be no lessons March 17 + 18 (consider registering for our March Break Camp instead!)
Our Outdoor Education class gives children meaningful, hands-on learning experiences in nature that build curiosity, confidence, resilience, and practical outdoor skills. Students learn through guided discovery, play, and group challenges that encourage observation, environmental stewardship, and cooperative problem-solving. Each session supports a calm, grounded connection to the outdoors.
Primary Learners
Young learners focus on safe, playful exploration that nurtures wonder and confidence outdoors. Activities may include:
Gentle nature walks
Sensory scavenger hunts
Simple plant and animal observations
Outdoor story time
Structured free play
Emphasis is on curiosity, caring for living things, building gross motor skills, and learning to explore nature safely.
Junior Learners
Older learners develop deeper skills and responsibility through outdoor challenges and project-based learning such as:
Map reading and simple navigation
Habitat and ecosystem studies
Citizen-science activities
Team problem-solving games
Basic outdoor skills and environmental awareness
Emphasis is on applied learning, leadership, and connecting outdoor experiences to real-world understanding.
Each class includes:
Guided exploration in outdoor environments
Practical skills and age-appropriate outdoor challenges
Collaborative activities that build teamwork and resilience
Routines that help children feel confident and grounded outside
This class helps children connect deeply with nature while building skills that support independence, problem-solving, and a lifelong appreciation for the outdoors.
