Fine Arts - Primary Ages | Mondays at 2:20pm
January 5 to June 15
Please note: There will be no lessons February 16 (Family Day), March 16 (March break - consider our camp!), April 6 (Easter), and May 18 (Victoria Day)
Our Fine Art class is designed for older learners who are ready to explore art with more intention, technique, and creative depth. Each 75 minute session blends guided instruction with individual expression, helping students grow their artistic skills while developing their own creative voice.
Students work with a range of materials - including drawing tools, paint, mixed media, and sculpture - while learning foundational techniques such as shading, colour mixing, perspective, layering, and using tools with purpose. Projects may span multiple weeks, allowing students to slow down, plan, refine, and take pride in more detailed artistic work.
Each class includes:
A guided lesson introducing the weekly technique or concept
Hands-on practice with quality materials and tools
Opportunities to apply new skills through creative projects
Instruction in drawing, painting, sculpture, and mixed media
A calm, encouraging environment that values personal expression and effort
This class supports artistic growth and confidence, giving students the skills to create meaningful, expressive artwork and explore art as both a discipline and a creative outlet. Students also learn about notable artists and artistic movements, adding a gentle introduction to art history in a way that feels engaging and accessible.
